Our Mission : Reconciling with Nature

"The body and the land are not two but one"

​

This traditional Japanese saying, Shin Do Fu Ji, is universally true. Body and soil are one and might almost sum up all our mission.

 

With that vision guiding our actions, we aim to very modestly contribute to reconcile humans with nature. This goes through the promotion of food that respects humans and the planet.

​

Without advocating for a vegetarian diet (we are not vegetarian) we are convinced that macrobiotics principles fit best to achieve this purpose.

 

We are not a superfood company and we do not promote this concept because it is unclear and does not mean much. Super food is everywhere. Garlic, avocado, dates, grapefruit, walnuts…... We want to bring food recognised for its ability to feed humanity and respecting the balance with the planet. We intend to bring back on our tables food that adhere to our values.

 

Our effort focuses on the 2 driving principles which are healthy products with minimal planet impact.

Living better starts with eating better. 

 

Organic seeks to attain both respect for nature by achieving greater biodiversity and respect for human health.

 

We of course don't compromise with organic quality. 

 

On this premise, we are inspired by macrobiotics principles as general guideline.

Zero plastic packaging

 

We ban plastic from all our packaging and do our best to reduce its use in the facility. Our products are exclusively packaged either in glass, metal tin or kraft paper. All materials that can be endless recyclable.

 

Kraft paper

​

Kraft paper is a natural bio-based and compostable material. It has numerous benefits as it is 100% recyclable, pollution-free and durable.

​

It is naturally biodegradable : like tree leaves, the paper breaks down into cellulose fibres naturally in a few weeks and can be entirely absorbed by the environment without impacts on the environment or human health.While Kraft paper is entirely biodegradable, this does not mean you should not dispose of it properly. Always reuse the packaging or place it in a recycling bin.

We recycle all the waste from the office and production facility. We always go for the shortest possible supply chain.

Quality control

​

Our products are subject to extremely strict controls. From production to distribution the full chain is supervised at all times to ensure total quality.

 

We periodically conduct rigorous internal inspections at all production steps from harvesting to shipping to ensure quality meets our standards. Besides on-site tests; we rely on external control institutions in charge of assuring organic inspection and recognised by the EU regulation. Our inspection procedure is based on ISO 20000 recommendation and can be summed up as follows :

• Regular inspection of suppliers’ processes

• Organic certification : verification of origin and validity of certification

• Checks on production processes and quality assessment

• Full traceability of  products and packaging materials

• Upon entry checks on physical, visual and purity properties

• Long standing relationship with suppliers
